I've been pretty quiet about the hurricanes that struck the gulf coast. Hell, I've been pretty quiet in general. Mostly because I'm still trying to get caught up with my life after a transplant to a new city and all that entails. However, now that I'm getting some more free time to devote to blogging, I'll state the obvious. Louisiana and New Orleans are chock full of incompetence. From the mayor of New Orleans up through the governor. Here's a little example:

I can't say I agree with the premise of the photo completely. Houston is run by liberals just like New Orleans is. But at least Texans have the good sense to come in out of the rain. Or, get out of its way, as the case may be.
But mostly, I'm just glad that Rita wasn't as bad as the predictions were indicating.

Or you could say before Brownie and after Brownie.
Or you could just say hindsight is 20/20 and everyone learned from the mistakes of the past.

Yeah, because there were no hurricanes before Katrina, and New Orleans officials and residents had no idea what one was. Right.

Well they obviously knew a lot more about them than the head of FEMA.

And WAY more than the mayor of New Orleans and the governor of Louisiana.
